About The Project
Located at the foothills of Colorado Springs, our team executed the culinary and branding vision for Aberdeen Ridge, a senior living community nestled near Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. As the food service consultant, we designed a seamless multi-venue dining experience, anchored by a central production kitchen that supports five distinct venues: Mesa (full-service restaurant), Goldfields (bar and lounge), Zeb’s (casual bistro), Juniper (assisted living dining), and Prairie Kitchen (Memory Care dining). No detail was too small to consider. Equipment was selected around the menu, ensuring that every element of the space worked together to provide the highest quality of food service and preparation.
Our branding team worked closely with PMMA and Greystone to develop custom venue identities that reflect the region’s geography and history. This included designing signage, menus, and staff uniforms that embodied each venue's personality. The map wall at Zeb’s, for example, ties the venue to its local roots, while carefully selected smallwares complement the brand’s identity, enhancing both functionality and ambiance. The result is a harmonious blend of food service design and thoughtful branding, where each space offers residents a unique dining experience while celebrating the community’s spirit and heritage.

Branding Process
SCOPOS Branding took a collaborative approach to develop an authentic brand experience that reflects the unique character of the Pikes Peak area. Our team explored the local history and culture to understand the essence of the Colorado Springs region. We then worked closely with PMMA and Greystone management teams to ensure each venue's identity resonated with the area's vibrant history and natural beauty.
We developed concepts and crafted compelling stories to guide the creation of each brand. These brands were developed into a cohesive family of logos, each reflecting the distinct personality of its venue. Our team selected smallwares and uniforms, designed menus, and developed signage for each venue. A local fabricator was chosen by our team to build and install the unique and artful signage.
The result is a dining experience at Aberdeen Ridge where every venue connects with the community’s spirit, offering residents a sense of pride and belonging while enriching their daily experiences through thoughtful design and branding.
1. Brand Strategy
The strategy focused on:
- Defining the unique personality and ambiance of each venue.
- Aligning both visual and verbal branding elements to reflect the rich history and vibrant lifestyle of the Pikes Peak area.
- Ensuring clarity in service positioning for intuitive guest experiences.
2. Naming and Concept Development
- Zeb's (Fast Casual Bistro/ Café): Inspired by Zebulon Pike, the explorer who discovered Pike’s Peak, Zeb’s brings a friendly, neighborhood vibe with a personal touch—just like the first-name familiarity of an old friend.
- Goldfields (Bar/ Lounge): Goldfields pays tribute to the pioneers of the 1850s who flocked to Colorado's gold rush. This upscale bar and lounge channels the spirit of those who staked their claim in the gold fields.
- Mesa (Full-service Expo Restaurant): MESA, the heart of Aberdeen Ridge’s dining experience, is inspired by the Grand Mesa—the world’s largest flat-topped mountain. It’s a place that stands out and offers something exceptional.
- Reserve (Private Dining): A nod to both special occasions and protected natural areas, Reserve offers an exclusive, intimate dining experience that’s as treasured as the landscapes around it.
- Juniper (Assisted Living Dining): Named after the Rocky Mountain Juniper, which thrives in the nearby Garden of the Gods, Juniper brings the beauty of local flora to a dining experience rooted in care and community.
3. Visual Identity & Design Development
- Venue Brand Identity and Signage: Each venue's unique brand identity is reflected through custom signage that enhances the overall ambiance and reinforces the space’s personality.
- Zeb’s Map Wall Graphic: The map wall at Zeb’s serves as a visual montage, showcasing the surrounding area and connecting the venue to its local roots.
- Menu Design and Staff Uniforms: Tailored menu designs for each location, paired with branded staff uniforms, ensure a cohesive and professional look that aligns with the venue’s vibe.
- Smallwares: Carefully selected smallwares complement the brand’s identity, adding to the overall dining experience with functional and aesthetic touches.
4. Implementation
- A consistent visual and experiential flow between venues
- Reinforcement of each space’s unique character within the overall community brand
- A seamless and intuitive experience for residents and guests
